v. a., to crop or clip close, to shave; hence, trop., to defraud, cheat, fleece one of his money (only in Plaut.): tu Persa's, qui me usque admutilavisti ad cutem, you have shorn me to the skin, Plaut. Pers. 5, 2, 48; id. Mil. 3, 1, 173; id. Capt. 2, 2, 19 (cf. the simple verb, Ter. Hec. 1, 1, 8).
